I have the honour to address you on the subject
of the sale to the Rhenish Mission, the owners of Inland Lot 609-D,
of an area of Crown Land adjoining that lot which they require for
the erection of a chapel and school and of a house for a Chinese
pastor.

Inland Lot 609-D originally formed part of a
much larger lot, known as Inland Lot 609, which was sold on a 999
years' lease dating from 10th. October, 1859. The area of the lot
was stated to be 388,625 square feet and its boundaries were de-
-fined as being:-
Bonham Road, 600 feet.
North
South
-
Government ground, 600 feet.
East
A mountain stream, 460 feet from point to point.
West
A mountain stream, b04 feet from point to point.
These boundaries were shown on a sketch plan attached to the lease
and are indicated as nearly as possible by green lines on the
enclosed plan marked "No. 1".

In September, 1862, it was agreed that the
original lease should be surrendered and that five new leases
should be issued for as many subdivisions of the original lot, es
follows:-
